🗓️           Join us for our second annual Recovery Month celebration at OCHE Community Office Hours on September 28 from 10am-12pm. Instead of featuring a community partner presentation like we usually do, we invite individuals and organizations to briefly share about the countless ways recovery happens and can be supported in Massachusetts. See (and share!) the attached flyer, and register here to attend.

🔨           DPH is making COVID and flu A/B tests available to a range of organizations including contracted treatment providers, housing programs, shelters, syringe service programs, Community Health Centers, community-based organizations, and many others. DPH is also offering expired personal protective equipment (PPE) for “non-clinical purposes.” See the attached document for more information and find the full list of eligible organizations through the application form.

🗣️           The public comment period on the MassHealth Section 1115 Demonstration Waiver is open through October 19. Section 1115 demonstration waivers allow states additional flexibility to design and improve their programs with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approval of experimental, pilot, or demonstration projects that promote the objectives of the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs. You can read more about this process, including how to submit written comments and join the hearings, on mass.gov.

💡           BSAS’ Women and Family Services team is excited to announce that registration is now open for Mirror Training ~ Creating Reflective Programs for Parents in Recovery. This is a free, two‑day virtual training October 21 + 22 developed through collaboration between FIRST Steps Together and the Mothering from the Inside Out (MIO) team. Mirror is a flexible, relationship‑focused approach that supports existing evidence-based practices through reflection and understanding of the emotions that influence both parenting and recovery. Register here by October 16.
