BSAS sent out this resource in last week’s Harm Reduction Round-Up and I thought the Hub community might find it beneficial as well so sharing here:

This byte-sized resource centers the wisdom community members have built over generations to care for each other when outside in the cold, in addition to highlighting some cold weather safety and care tips & tricks. Medical spaces may feel unsafe for folks who use drugs and/or live outside. This zine seeks to support folks who may be reluctant in seeking formal medical or clinical care.

This resource was compiled by the Sick & Tired Collective with special support and guidance from harm reduction outreach workers in South Minneapolis and Duluth. Its format and content were largely inspired by Southside Harm Reduction’s XYLA-ZINE. All medical information was acquired from UpToDate and other peer reviewed sources.

Sad topic but beautifully illustrated resource! I could see this being useful to link out to in various cold weather guidances that go out, in addition to distributing among frontline staff.
