Knowledge is power. While working as a communications intern at a couple of different organizations, I was tasked with compiling news articles for the leader, preparing them for the day. But not all teams have their own interns or executive assistants, especially less grassroots organizations. The field of harm reduction is often under-resourced, with mornings busy bagging kits or responding to literally life-or-death needs. You don’t have time to hunt down intel. The Harm Reduction Briefing was made for these practitioners in mind, for the bus ride in, the morning coffee.
Every day an automated program sifts the internet and identifies:
      • News from major and regional outlets
      • Social media discourse on Bluesky, X, and Reddit
      • City press releases and announcements
      • Academic research and reports
      • Law and policy changes, from national to local
      • Current and upcoming funding opportunities
      • Activism alerts and events

Delivered to your inbox free-of-charge. Here is an example.

For about 5 years I’ve been hobbying in software, always hoping to make something useful to the people working on this public health issue near to my heart. If you’re interested in signing up, please visit the briefing website. Full disclosure, you are a beta tester. There will be bugs but also rapid fixes making the tool more precise and higher signal. Also, the service uses AI at multiple steps and so I urge everyone to read the underlying source before putting info to action. Lastly, want to be clear the briefing is my personal project and unrelated to my professional job.

Any feedback whatsoever, please reach out to contact@christianarthur.tech. Hope you enjoy this service and thanks for being part of the experiment!
