Supporting Your Direct Care Staff

Please join us on Tuesday, Oct 27th, from 10 am – 12 pm EST for our workshop, Supporting Your Direct Care Staff

Many direct service providers in management and supervisory roles want to know how best to support their staff. Often in these managerial/administrative roles, there are many hats to wear and many directions to go at once. It can be challenging to determine how best to support individual staff members and teams while managing understaffed programs and balancing managerial responsibilities. This workshop will discuss more nuanced aspects of staff support and offer practical tips and suggestions for consideration. The intended audience for this workshop is program managers, supervisors of direct service staff, and other adjacent administrative roles.

After this workshop, you will be able to:

• Evaluate current supports offered to staff and possible barriers to supporting staff
• Examine nuances in staffing of programs, such as recruiting and professional development
• Discuss cultural humility as a tool for ongoing staff support
• Identify and utilize tools from their supervisory skill set as a direct service provider
