Community Conversation – Supporting Pregnant and Parenting People Impacted by Substance Use
January 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

The one-hour community conversation series features a speaker addressing a key topic or concern for direct service providers on the frontline of the overdose crisis. Following a brief presentation, attendees can share experiences and ask questions to the guest and peers. Questions can be sent beforehand to Gabriel@SADOD.org.
Supporting pregnant and postpartum people who are currently using or who have a history of substance use is a complex area of practice shaped by systemic inequities and punitive responses that often cause harm. Michelle Kavouras of SpheraNova will join this community conversation to share practices and insights from toolkit development, and to help facilitate discussions among providers on strengths-based care and improving maternal and infant outcomes.
