This Local Black Author Talk brings community members together to hear from local Black authors as they share their personal stories, experiences, and the inspiration behind their books. The event focuses on themes of community, family, identity, healing, self-love, and youth voices, creating a space for meaningful conversation, learning, and connection. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with authors, ask questions, participate in discussions, and celebrate the power of storytelling to inspire understanding and strengthen communities.

Join United Communities Corporation and the Boston Public Library’s Shaw-Roxbury Branch for an inspiring afternoon celebrating local Black authors, community voices, and the power of storytelling. The Local Black Author Talk brings together authors, readers, families, and community members for meaningful conversations about identity, healing, self-love, family, youth voices, and the experiences that shape our communities. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from local authors as they share their stories, discuss the inspiration behind their books, and engage in an open dialogue with the audience.
